Cost Saving Tips
The telecoms slice of your budget is getting bigger and bigger. This isn't going to change. below we've listed a few ideas which might help.
Least Cost Routing
If you haven't tried least cost routing you should consider it. You can reduce your call costs from around 6.8p to less than 2p a minute for a national call and a bigger difference for calling mobiles.
Fixed Cellular Terminals
Sounds complicated but it's a box that fits to your 'phone system which sends calls to your mobiles over the mobile network. This can bring the costs down from around 22p to 4.5p.
Mobile Accounts
As far as possible get your mobiles onto one network and one account. calls from one network to another are expensive and you can now get preferential rates for calling numbers on the same account.
Mobile data
If your colleagues regularly go abroad or stay in hotels, have a look at using e-mail from your mobiles. It's invariably cheaper and nowadays pretty quick.
International use
If you use your mobiles abroad frequently, make sure you're on a tariff designed specifically for business. Consumer tariffs usually have higher international call costs. The difference can be upwards of 40p per minute.
